Dr Dre - Detox Release Date

Dr Dre Spills the beans.

Dr. Dre teased fans during his performance with Eminem and Jay-Z at Detroit's Comerica Park, after they began chanting "Detox" in unison, in an attempt to push the produced to release the delayed album.

“I'm coming,” was all Dr. Dre told the crowd.

Detox is the follow-up to Dr. Dre's 1999 album 2001.

Below is a video that can possibly set our minds at ease a bit.

Dre says, "4/20 - 4/20, baby, I'm coming!"
For fans this means having your blunts and shit ready on the twomp.
The album was originally set for a February 2011 release date.

Dre also mentions in an earlier interview that "any leaked songs will not appear on the Detox album".

Their second album, Straight Outta Compton, marked the beginning of the new gangsta rap era as the production and the social commentary in their lyrics were revolutionary within the genre. Rolling Stone ranked N.W.A. eighty-third on their list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" Although largely unknowns at the group's inception, rappers Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and MC Ren would all go on to be platinum-selling stars in their own right, retroactively making N.W.A hip hop's first supergroup.

NWA - 100 Miles And Runnin' [1991]

100 Miles and Runnin' was the first N.W.A. album after Ice Cube had left the group a year earlier, and the group makes numerous sardonic references to its former member. On the title track, Dre states "It started with five one couldn't take it / So now there's four 'cause the fifth couldn't make it" to dismiss Ice Cube as a coward, and on the song "Real Niggaz" MC Ren states "Only reason niggaz picked up your record is cause they thought it was us", referring to the success of Ice Cube's first solo album Amerikkas Most Wanted which had been released earlier that year. Ice Cube would respond to these attacks on his 1991 album Death Certificate.
