K|d R0ck - Grits Sandwiches For Breakfast

On December 11, 1990, Kid Rock released his debut album Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast on Jive Records. The lead single "Yo Da Lin In The Valley" was banned by the FCC for its fixation on oral sex, and received at the time the largest non-commercial radio fine of all time at $23,750 fined to SUNY Cortland Radio (WSUC-FM). Jive released Kid Rock from their roster in 1991. It was during the height of the 2 Live Crew censorship trial and they deemed Kid Rock's album too dirty.

He would meet Uncle Kracker in 1991 after battling Kracker's brother in a rap battle back in Clawson, Michigan. Kid Rock eventually asked Uncle Kracker to become his full time DJ, although at the time he had no clue how to play them.

Grits Sandwiches sold 100,000 copies upon its initial release. Atlantic Record won the rights to the record in 2000 and re-released the album.

The Geto Boys - We Cant Be Stopped

Hip-hop groups were a hot topic for moral-minded politicians during the early 90s, and several leaders used the Geto Boys as an example to decry the state of modern pop-oriented music. The fires were fanned in 1991 with the release of the group's third proper LP, We Can't Be Stopped. Before the release of the album, Bushwick Bill had lost an eye in a shooting incident with his girlfriend, and the cover featured Willie D. and Scarface wheeling Bushwick Bill into an emergency room, with a prominent shot of the damaged eye.

Inside the album, proceedings were among the most extreme in the history of American recorded music. Obviously, radio airplay was non-existent, but We Can't Be Stopped was still certified platinum by the RIAA in early 1992—thanks to the underground hit "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," one of the most effective inner-city vignettes in hip-hop history.

Bushwick Bill did not approve of the photo being used for the cover. im not exactly sure what the deal was.. look it up yourself. all i know is there was words about it.

Bangin On Wax - Best Of The Damu's - 1997

The Bloods are a street gang founded in Los Angeles, California. The gang is widely known for its rivalry with the Crips. They are identified by the red color worn by their members and by particular gang symbols, including distinctive hand signs. The Bloods are made up of various sub-groups known as "sets" between which significant differences exist such as colors, clothing, and operations, and political ideas which may be in open conflict with each other. Since their creation, the Blood gangs have branched out throughout the United States. Bloods have been documented in the US military, found in both US and overseas bases.

The United Blood Nation, simply called the Bloods, formed in 1993, within the New York City jail system on Rikers Island's GMDC (George Mochen Detention Center), sometimes called C 73. GMDC was used to segregate problem inmates from the rest of the detention center. Prior to this time period, the Latin Kings were the most prevalent and organized gang in the NYC jail system. The Latin Kings, with mostly Hispanic members, were targeting African American inmates with violence. These African American inmates, organized by some of the more violent and charismatic inmates, formed a protection group which they called the United Blood Nation. This United Blood Nation, which was actually a prison gang, was emulating the Bloods street gangs in Los Angeles, California. Several of the leaders of this recently created prison gang formed eight original Blood sets to recruit in their neighborhoods across New York City.

By 1996, thousands of members of the Blood street gang were establishing themselves as a formidable force among gangs and continued a steady drive for recruitment. At this time, the Bloods were more violent than other gangs but much less organized. Numerous slashings (razor blade or knife attacks) were reported during robberies and discovered to be initiations into the Bloods. This Blood in ritual became the trademark for the Bloods. Bloods recruited throughout the East Coast

Bangin On Wax - Best Of The Crips - 1997

The Crips founded in Los Angeles, California in 1971 mainly by Raymond Washington and Stanley ' Tookie' Williams. What was once a single alliance between two autonomous gangs is now a loosely connected network of individual sets, often engaged in open warfare with one another.

The Crips are one of the largest and most violent associations of street gangs in the United States, with an estimated 30,000 to 35,000 members. The gang is known to be involved in murders, robberies, and drug dealing, among many other criminal pursuits. The gang is known for its gang members' use of the color blue in their clothing. However, this practice has waned due to police crackdowns on gang members.

Crips are publicly known to have an intense and bitter rivalry with the Bloods and lesser feuds with some Chicano gangs. Crips have been documented in the U.S. military, found in bases in the United States and abroad.

Williams recalled that a blue bandanna was first worn by Crips founding member Buddha, as a part of his color-coordinated clothing of blue Levi's, a blue shirt, and dark blue suspenders. A blue bandanna was worn in memorium to Buddha after he was shot and killed on February 23, 1973, which eventually became the color of blue associated with Crips

Poison Clan - 2 Low Life Muthas

Poison Clan was a Southern hip-hop group signed to Luke Records from 1990 to 1995, the group had a various line-ups and members were JT Money, Debonaire, Drugz, Uzi, Madball and BigRam. Poison Clan played an important role in the development of the Dirty South movement that developed late in the decade. The group began as a 2 Live Crew-sponsored group on Luke Records and came to an end when the group's driving force, JT Money, went on to a more successful solo career after a business-related dispute with Luke. In retrospect, though Poison Clan struggled to gain notoriety outside of Miami in the '90s, the group's style of sleazy, club-orientated, bass-driven rap provided the template for the late-'90s Dirty South movement.

Originally, Poison Clan was duo featuring Debonaire and JT Money featured on 2 Low Life Muthas. The two Miami rappers had impressed Luke enough for him to sign them to his then-fledging label, Luke Records, and have Mr. Mixx, 2 Live Crew's DJ, produce the album. 2 Low Life Muthas became a modest sensation in the South with its blend of dirty rap, gangsta rap, and Miami bass

The 2 Live Crew - Sports Weekend 1991

The last album from the original four Group members of the 2 Live Crew . This album never made it up the food chain like the first release (2 live is what we are) or As nasty as they wanna be. They tried to throw this one in and call it part 2 of (as nasty as the wanna be) But by then the Crew had lost the obscene flare the grew fame from. But fuck that shit its a 2 live crew record its a classic hall of fame album anyway. But on another note, Each member moved on to solo stuff and such. Mr mixx still doin it. Luke has had many different paths but is still successful, Fresh kid ice made some solo stuff. but never did much rappin. maybe other group members was helpin with the rhymes..

MC ADE - Aint No Thang 1996

As far as i know Ain't No Thang was the last album ADE dropped. I always considered this to be a crossover album. Most of the songs were mainstream and not more like the Miami bass sound he began with. However when you work with other artist you get a new sound so C.B.C was on point with ADE. I came Back and Bass Train helped the album. ADe Fans loved the robot sound ADe perfected. Any Way ... By 96 i had moved from FL and lost track of anything else from ADE or 4 Sight. But well known for hit hit Bass Rock Express And Bass Mechanic, ADE will for ever be known as the man that made the first miami bass record. See More Here

Gucci Crew II - So Def, So Fresh, So Stupid 1988

The Gucci Crew II was a Miami Bass group popular between 1986 and 1994. The group was made up of MC V and TFS (aka 240 Shorty), along with Disco Rick, who was their DJ early on.

As Amos went into semi-retirement for a few years, Disco Rick assumed the role of producer. They released the album "So Def, So Fresh, So Stupid" in 1987, which became a hugely successful album locally on the heels of 2 Live Crew's debut album. The success was only heightened as the campy single, "Sally, that Girl", caught fire outside of Florida that same year, which over time proved to be their signature song.

Gucci Crew II - What Time Is It? - 1988

In 1988, the trio released "What Time is It? Gucci Time" and was quickly embraced by the emerging car audio bass market. Tensions arose as the final version of the album featured a parody of Doug E. Fresh's "La Di Da Di", which went against Disco Rick's wishes. As a result, Rick left the unit to form "The Dogs", and Gucci Crew suddenly found themselves without a DJ and producer.

Gucci Crew II - Everybody Wants Some -1989

As a duo, Gucci Crew began work on their third album, "Everybody Wants Some" in 1989, utilizing Hot Productions' in house producer, Larry Davis. Davis had not only been a member of the highly successful Disco-Funk group Instant Funk, but had produced national hits for Gucci Crew's label mates L'trimm the previous year, which led L'trimm to a licensing deal with Atlantic Records. In a maximum effort promotional campaign, Hot Productions bought time for an interview on B.E.T.'s "Rap City" video show for both L'trimm and Gucci Crew. Despite all the effort, "Everybody Wants Some" failed to impress Gucci Crew's core audience, and it also failed to attract new fans. Tensions between the group and the label came to a boil.

Gucci Crew II - G4 - 1990

The Gucci Crew hired a new DJ and producer named Hollywood, and released their fourth and final album, "G4". The initial single, "Pushin'", received airplay on Yo! MTV Raps, but again failed to gain attention. It was the group's next single, "Booty Shake", that became a club anthem in the south eastern United States 1990/1991 and gained the act a whole new fanbase for a brief period.

By the end of 1991, the Miami Bass scene went through a complete makeover. 2 Live Crew had officially announced their breakup, sample clearance issues halted productions for many groups, and a couple breakthrough hits had changed the focus of the music to higher tempos for "booty shake" contests. It took until 1994 for any new material to come out under the Gucci Crew moniker. The two singles released did meet the new standards for the Miami Bass scene, although the act now only featured 240 Shorty and the singles failed to gain any substantial attention. The label closed out Gucci Crew's contract by funding no new productions, maximizing their existing catalog by releasing a greatest hits compilation later that year.

In December 2007, MC V (bka) Gucci was shot 6 times in the back and killed in Americus, Georgia. He was buried in Ocala, Florida. Disco Rick was the only former Gucci Crew II member that attended his funeral.

Eminem - Warning - 2009

Mariah Carey is spitting mad at her alleged ex-boyfriend Eminem because he is supposedly playing personal messages she left the rapper when they were "dating" during his recent tour. Carey, for her part, has always denied that there was ever a romantic relationship between the two. The two were alleged to be dating in 2001 when he worked on her Charmbracelet album. In 2002, Eminem finally admitted there was something going on. He said then, "There is truth to the story. Now I respect her as a singer, but on a personal level I’m not really feeling it." Ouch.

Reportedly, during his recent Anger Management tour Eminem plays a clip of Carey’s hit "We Belong Together" and then allegedly plays a clip from one of Mariah’s voice mail messages that says, "I heard you were getting back with your ex-wife. Why won’t you see me? Why won’t you call me? You’re not calling me." He then pretends to vomit and starts singing his hit "Puke."

Don’t get on Eminem’s bad side — it’s not a good place to be. That’s the lesson Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are learning in the harshest way possible with the release of the rapper’s new diss track against the couple called “Warning.”

In the track, produced by Dr. Dre, Em raps about his disgust over Mariah denying their brief relationship and portrayal of him in her latest single and video “Obsessed,” although Mariah has gone on record saying neither is about him.

MARRS - Pump up the volume 1987

MARRS started in 1987 as a collaboration between the groups A.R. Kane and Colourbox, with additional input from DJs Chris C.J. Mackintosh and Dave Dorrell. However, the collaboration did not go entirely according to plan. Once in the studio, the groups' different working methods and personalities failed to click. Producer Jon Fryer found himself in the middle and unable to resolve the conflict between the two camps. The result was that instead of working together, the two groups ended up recording a track each, then turning it over to the other for additional input.

This record was released under the alias MARRS, an acronym derived from the forenames of the five 4AD artists involved in the project: Martyn, Alex Ayuli, and Rudi Tambala (from A.R. Kane); Russell Smith (an associate A.R. Kane member); and Steve (from Colourbox).

Divine Sounds - What people do for money - 1984

Divine Sounds is an old school rap group from Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York.
Members, DJ Mike, Disco Richie and Shelton D, they hit the block in the mid 80's with What People Do For Money..

Before Divine Sounds made it into the recording studio, DJ Mike was frequently seen playing music in Bedford Stuyvesant, a
neighborhood in the central portion of the New York City (a.k.a) Bed Stuy and Lafayette park where he brought funk into hip-hop. DJ Mike Music is also thought to be the first DJ to rap on a record.

But then again i dunno, I'm always reminded of DJ Slick Vic of the Jam Pony Express DJ's . Est. 1981
. He treated the mic like a monster would treat kids at Disney World. I got hip to divine sounds thru the JPE DJ's..

Quadrant Six - Body Mechanic - Vinyl

Just like Soul Sonic Force's "Planet Rock," Planet Patrol's "Play at Your Own Risk," C-Bank's "One More Shot," and Jonzun Crew's "Space Is the Place," Quadrant Six's "Body Mechanic" was, in part, the work of Arthur Baker associate John Robie (the writing credits on the release also go to the less-known E. Innocenti). Quadrant Six only produced the one 12"; released in 1982 on Atlantic, it peaked at number 25 on the clubplay chart and has since become one of the better-known electro singles. "Body Mechanic" has been included on numerous retrospectives since its release, including the fourth volume of Tommy Boy's 1995 Perfect Beats series

Jam Pony Express - Classics 1 - 6

Jam Pony Express DJ's Originated in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. in 1981. It's original members are DJ Slick Vic, Diamond Dick, Hot Rod and Mr. M.B. Later members included Lock Cool Jock, Sporty "J" and Big Ace[Rip]. Jam Pony's claim to fame was "regulatin" on the microphone by cutting the music down and talking over the lyrics to create a new song.
J.P.E. dropped an LP in 1995 on Express Records Called " The Legend Continues.. , which is affiliated with 2-4-1 Entertainment in Tampa

The Cast and crew today.
Slick Vic, Lock Jock, Big Ace (R.I.P), Hot Rod, Gigolo Joe (R.I.P.), Mr. MB, Sporty J, Diamond Dick, Jazzy J, Sporty Shorty, Cucci Crew- Sexy Slim & Juicy S, Zeke "Pantie Raider Freak", Wolf B, Babygirl, DJ Spice, Disco Kid, Cuda "C" Cortez, L-Dogg, M-N-M Shay, Bossman LB, Pontiac Player, Whiteboy Joshski , Captain D & FL DJs's,Poochie Thomas; Rock Booty D.J.'s, Nasty J, Master K/ Special K, Keke, the New Cucci Crew, JPE Gen. 2 DJ's

We were just having fun, DJ Slic Vic reminisces, grinning from ear to ear. M.B. had equipment, and I had equipment. We battled each other, and the next day we was borring records. But borrowing those records led to rocking backyard parties. After finding the right chemistry, Victor Austin and Marc Brown started DJ'ing together. People around the way started to call them the Pony Express DJs because they would pull up to a party driving the Pony Express delivery truck. Marcs pops use to work for Pony Express, a mail carrier company way before UPS. I didnt like being called Pony Express but it just stayed with us, Slic Vic remembers. Shortly after, Pony Express became Jam Pony Express. Victor Austin turned into DJ Slick Vic and Marc became Mr. M.B. and almost 30 years later the Pony Express Lives on.

A very special thanks to DJ Spice. you can cop all the classic albums that you cant get from here.
And also thanks to Zeke The Pantie Raider. Thanks for the love fam,.
If you a real fan of the pony, please visit spice and show some love.
